OUR AIMS
1. To lay the foundation for a lifelong love of music in all children and their parents/carers.
2. To encourage creativity, self-expression, and social connection through engaging musical activities.
3. To create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space where all children and families feel confident and valued.
LIVE MUSICIANS
Giving very young children the chance to see, feel and understand how sounds are made up close by professional musicians is one of Baby Band's core principles, building excitement and enthusiasm for playing music early in life.
SONGS BY HEART
There's strong evidence for the importance of learning nursery rhymes and songs by heart. Children who can recite eight or more nursery rhymes by age four tend to have significantly stronger literacy skills by Key Stage 2.
LEARNING KEY MUSICAL CONCEPTS
Each session embeds concepts like pulse, tempo and dynamics through percussion instruments, singing and curated playlists, giving children a head start when they later learn an instrument.
REAL INSTRUMENTS
High quality, real instruments help children understand tonal quality and texture in a way plastic toys can't, providing a natural stepping stone to genuine musical interest as they grow.
EXPOSURE TO A WIDE VARIETY OF MUSICAL GENRES
Sessions include a broad range of genres beyond nursery rhymes, from radio and TV favourites to music from around the world, helping children discover their own musical preferences early.
