VENUES
Church halls, village halls and community centres commonly have rooms to hire, typically £10-£20/hour, often negotiable. Factor in acoustics, many halls have flat, bare walls creating poor sound quality, so try the space out where possible. Choose an accessible, safe, and desirable area of your territory, good parking is essential for families travelling from surrounding villages.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A VENUE
- Acoustics: music must be heard clearly without distortion; curtains, carpets and soft furnishings help
- Space: enough room for all mats plus extra space around the edges for busy children
- Facilities: toilets with changing facilities
- Ground floor: important for loading/unloading equipment; a lift is essential if not ground floor
- Café: a big bonus for families wanting a post-class cuppa
- Pushchair access: easy access and somewhere to park pushchairs during class

RISK ASSESSMENTS
The venue must be suitable and safe for adults and children. It's your responsibility to carry out risk assessments (sample templates on the shared Google Drive), minimise risks, and stay aware of any new ones as they arise. Know the fire exits, evacuation procedures and assembly points for every venue you use.
